As we continue through September, now is a perfect time to remind you that it is Dental Infection Control Awareness Month (DICAM). Our good friends at the Association for Dental Safety (formerly known as the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention) have a tremendous number of resources that can help your dental practice not only be safe during DICAM but throughout the rest of the year as well.

Here at DrBicuspid.com, we have launched a series of podcasts and video interviews that focus on a key piece of the infection control puzzle: Dental unit waterlines (DUWLs). Working with our friends at Solmetex, we have brought together thought leaders in the dental industry to discuss DUWLs and what dentists and dental team members may not know about the water they are using in their practices every day.

To give you a taste of what we have been and will continue talking about in this interview series, check out the highlight reel below.

We are already through the first two of our infection control-focused interviews.

Check out my interview with Leslie Canham, CDA, RDA, on "Empowering team members for compliance and patient safety" here.

Check out my interview with Melissa K. Turner, RDH, on "Exploring the good and bad sides of biofilm" here.

And next Monday, September 23, I'm thrilled that we will release the next in our series of interviews with Tija Hunter, CDA, taking center stage with me.

My sincere thanks to all of these amazing women for their leadership when it comes to infection control in the dental practice. I'm excited to bring the next two interviews to you, so make sure you're using these as a part of your dental team's learning process.
