Harvard University Health Services will close its dental service department permanently on December 31, 2020, according to a notice on the center's site.
It is shutting down due to financial troubles experienced over the past several years, noted an October 14 article in the Harvard Crimson.
The dental service employs approximately 10 dentists, hygienists, and other staff, and it treats employees, students, and the community, including some of the area's most underserved.
The university's pharmacy will also close at the end of the year due to financial strains.
