Helen H. Lu, a professor of dental and craniofacial engineering at Columbia University, was named a 2023 U.S. National Academy of Inventors (NAI) fellow.
Lu, the director of Columbia’s Biomaterials and Interface Tissue Engineering Laboratory, together with her team and students, develop medical devices to treat caries, periodontal diseases, and more. Additionally, Lu has contributed to over 40 patents and patent applications related to scaffold devices and methods for tissue regeneration.
The U.S.Patent and Trademark Office at the NAI will present Lu with her medal at the NAI's 13th annual meeting in June 2024.
