Columbia University College of Dental Medicine announced it will collaborate with the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) to enhance access to dental services for underserved communities in New York City.

As part of the collaboration, a community dental health coordinator will join Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine and leverage existing relationships with groups in its Community DentCare Network to increase dental services to underserved residents in northern Manhattan.

Additionally, the collaboration will expand the NYSDA's Dental Demonstration Project program to New York City.

Columbia University's dental clinics are the major provider of much-needed oral healthcare services to underserved populations in Harlem, Inwood, Washington Heights, and other neighborhoods throughout northern Manhattan and the south Bronx, the university said.
