UCLA dental school receives $1.5M grant

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry has received a $1.5 million grant from Delta Dental of California to launch a community-based clinical education program.

The grant will allow UCLA to launch a program to provide care for Medicaid recipients and patients lacking access to care. The patients will be seen by fourth-year dental students, who will be overseen by credentialed dentists, according to the university.

The university is looking to develop a local oral healthcare delivery model. Part of the grant money will support development of the program's sustainability model.
