The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry has opened its newly renovated faculty practice facility and is now accepting patients.
The $2.4 million state-of-the-art facility houses 14 dental operation bays supported by current digital radiograph systems and sterilization and laboratory equipment, according to a school press release.
The new facility will give UAB faculty a clinical space commensurate with their research facilities. Approximately 30 dental practitioners are available to provide services in a private-practice setting with 15 clinical and administrative staffers.
Clinic specialties available include general dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. The facility accepts most major insurance plans. Uninsured patients also are welcome.
