The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is accepting applications and nominations for the dean of the College of Dentistry.
One of seven colleges that comprises UIC's academic health center, the College of Dentistry conducts research and has a range of specialty programs. In the past decade, the school has implemented a new curriculum, added 70 faculty members, renovated the dental building, and raised nearly $50 million from donors, according to the university.
The college seeks a dean who will capitalize on these advancements, the university's interprofessional assets, a strong alliance with the Illinois and Chicago dental societies, and support from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and neighboring communities.
The dean reports to the vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost, and will lead an evolving, diverse college committed to access and inclusion. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership skills and a depth of experience in academic administration, a strong and innovative vision for the future of dental medicine, and a history of creating robust interdisciplinary partnerships.
The college has retained the executive search firm Isaacson, Miller to assist in recruiting. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. All inquiries, nominations/referrals, and resumes with cover letters, should be sent electronically and in confidence to: Philip Jaeger, vice president, and Amy Segal, associate; Isaacson, Miller; 1300 19th St., Suite 700; Washington, DC 20036; email: [email protected].
