Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ, will receive $3.3 million in federal education grants over the next five years to expand Hispanic students' educational opportunities.
The grant also will fund expansion of the school's teaching laboratory and clinic to add laser technology designed to enhance its offerings in dental hygiene, dental assisting, and dental laboratory technology, according to school officials.
The school will add an Arizona soft-tissue laser certificate and a coronal polish certificate, as well as restorative dentistry curricula. The grant also will help fund a curriculum redesign to include additional electronic patient care documentation instruction.
