Minn. event provides $1M in free dental care

Minnesota Mission of Mercy is providing $1 million in free dental care on June 14 and 15, according to an article by Valley News Live. The event is being held at the Stanford Center in Bemidji, MN, by the Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation.

The line of people seeking care was estimated to be in the hundreds when the doors opened at 5:30 a.m. on Friday. Once inside, they were served by 300 dental professionals and 800 volunteers. The dental services provided include cleanings, fillings, root canals on select teeth, temporary partial dental appliances, extractions, and oral hygiene instruction.

Steve Litton of Mission of Mercy noted that a goal of the organization is to make legislators aware of the need for increased dental care in the state.
