Dentsply Australia offers aid in wake of floods

Dentsply Australia has implemented a number of initiatives to help dentists affected by severe flooding in Queensland, Northern New South Wales, and country Victoria in recent weeks.

"A clear message from the aftereffects of the floods has been the realization that it may take weeks, months and, in some cases, years for communities to recover from the disaster and for the commercial world to resume normal business," the company said in an announcement on its website. "We are equally aware that there appears to be a high degree of confusion surrounding many of the insurance policies associated with flood damage."

After talking with numerous customers, Dentsply Australia said it will replace, free of charge, all items purchased directly from it over a six-month period.

"We hope that this gesture will contribute in some way to the rebuilding of their businesses," the company said.

Dentsply Australia is also offering a 25% discount off the recommended retail price for all items requiring replacement, regardless of the insurance status of each affected client, through March 31, 2011, plus an additional 60 days extended payment terms on both existing outstanding balances and purchases made to the end of February.

"We are keen to assist our most severely impacted clients without delay," the company said.
