Meharry dental school upgrades clinic

The oral diagnostic and imaging clinic at the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry was recently upgraded through a $780,000 contribution from Delta Dental of Tennessee, according to a news story on the Tennessean.com.

The school provides services to the economically challenged and offers dental services by students under the supervision of a licensed dentist, the story noted.

The new clinic is about 4,600 sq ft, compared to the old one that was about 1,800 sq ft and in some disrepair, said Dr. Walter Owens, development officer for the Meharry Medical College in the story. The new clinic also features digital radiography and an electronic patient record system.
