CDA Foundation awards grants to improve access to care

To increase access to care, the California Dental Association (CDA) Foundation recently awarded three California dentists more than $300,000 in grant money in exchange for service in a community clinic.

The CDA Foundation Student Loan Repayment Grant program provides dental students up to $105,000 for loan repayment in exchange for three years of service in an underserved community. Seven grants have been awarded since the program's inception in 2002.

"We are fortunate that some of the best and brightest have chosen to work in underserved populations, where their services will be an asset to the overall health of the community," stated CDA Foundation Executive Director Jon Roth in a press release.

The three latest recipients are Teri Ly, D.D.S., of Oakland; Isaac Navarro, D.M.D., of Orosi; and Alvaro Ochoa, D.D.S., of Banning.
