VideaHealth announced that it has received a Medical Device Establishment License (MDEL) from Health Canada. VideaHealth, a dental artificial intelligence (AI) solutions provider, received a MDEL for the Videa Caries Assist, an AI-powered dental caries detection algorithm.
Recently, the company received 501(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its software. Videa Caries Assist helps dentists strengthen their clinical expertise with VideaHealth's Videa Factory, which contains data points to help reduce AI bias in the dental industry and provides benchmarks for data trends, pathology direction, and treatment recommendations, according to the company.
