Artificial intelligence (AI) technology developer Pearl said it has received a U.S. patent for software to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in radiographic dental insurance claims.
The patent, titled "Systems and Methods for Insurance Fraud Detection," covers a system that automatically identifies claims containing doctored and duplicative claims evidence based on a variety of computer vision algorithmic models.
Pearl was founded in 2019 and is backed by Craft Ventures and other venture capital firms. This is its fourth patent award this year, Pearl said.
