Apteryx Imaging and German artificial intelligence (AI) consulting firm Trestle have agreed to co-develop AI-based software modules for dental imaging applications.
In addition to contributing deidentified data, Apteryx said it will provide its dental domain management experience, custom software development team, support, and sales and marketing services to the project. For its part, Trestle will contribute its AI, data science, and project management services, according to Apteryx.
Apteryx said that users for the AI applications will encompass the dental ecosystem, including device manufacturers and operators, medical and dental care professionals, radiologists and other imaging specialists, laboratories, insurance companies, research institutes, academia, analytics providers, and patients. The initiative, which is being conducted with financial support from the governments of Canada and Germany, is expected to conclude on May 31, 2021.
