The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation has donated $2.5 million to 39 food banks across 15 states and Washington, DC.
The donations are in line with Delta Dental's mission to promote oral health because dental caries are linked to food insecurity, the firm said.
The $2.5 million donation follows the foundation's award of $11 million in grants in response to COVID-19, including $1 million for food banks and Meals on Wheels programs. The firm previously said its COVID-19 relief efforts are expected to reach $1.1 billion by early this year.
