Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals has launched a new formula for its Colgate PreviDent varnish 5% sodium fluoride.
The high-fluoride in-office treatment contains the equivalent of 22,600 parts per million (ppm) fluoride, which has been shown to provide effective dentin hypersensitivity relief, the company noted in a press release. It provides four times greater fluoride uptake into lesioned enamel and three times greater fluoride uptake into sound enamel, according to Colgate.
PreviDent varnish also contains xylitol and is available in two flavors: mint and raspberry. It is packaged in unit doses (0.4 mL) with disposable brushes.
