Designed in collaboration with Jan-Holger Bellmann, C.D.T., Kit TD2041 contains six tungsten carbide cutters. For use in a laboratory turbine, the instruments work on all titanium abutments and should be followed by a matching finishing bur identified with a red ring, according to Komet.
Shaping (black ring) burs come in three sizes: H373Q.314.021, H371Q.214.025, and H376Q.314.025. Finishing (red ring) burs are also available in three sizes: H373F.314.021, H371F.314.025, and H376F.314.025. Both shaping and finishing burs come in the standard cone angles of 0°, 2°, and 4°, and all have a rounded tip. Their coarse, cross-cut toothing cuts tough titanium without clogging, according to the company.
"Using these innovative burs and the proper turbine allows laboratory technicians to feel the impact by spending less time shaping titanium abutments rather than using ordinary cutters in the milling device," the company said in a press release. "Kit TD2041 also allows the technician greater flexibility by reducing the amount of instruments needed to work in titanium abutments in the laboratory."
