In honor of the 100th anniversary of the dental hygiene profession, Crest Oral-B released two short films about hygienists this week during the American Dental Hygienists' Association's (ADHA) annual session in Boston.
The films highlight Mariann Danielson, RDH, from Austin, TX, and Vinny Wong, RDH, from New York City, as examples of hygienists who have drastically altered the lives of their patients through their dedication to the oral health cause.
Through constant support and repeated dental visits, Danielson helped her 15-year-old patient slowly overcome his sensory integration disorder and conquer his fear of the dental chair and instruments.
This Crest Oral-B short film celebrates hygienists, like Mariann Danielson, RDH, who make a difference in their patients' lives each and every day. |
Wong discovered that his patient had ankyloglossia -- was tongue tied -- during a routine oral cancer scan and suggested corrective surgery. Their stories are just two examples of the true nature of the profession, which contradicts any notion that hygienists are simply teeth cleaners.
This Crest Oral-B short film honors the contributions made each and everyday by hygienists, like Vinny Wong, RDH. |
