U.S. firm launches blackberry toothpaste gum

Four Tigers, a Kentucky blackberry research & development company, is partnering with Kroger to distribute a blackberry toothpaste gum.

BerryCare toothpaste gum, a dietary supplement made with an all-natural blackberry ingredient, provides nutrients while keeping the mouth, teeth, and periodontal in good condition, according to the company.

The National Institute of Health and the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation Matching Funds Program have provided Four Tigers the opportunity to research and develop products to deliver blackberries' health benefits to consumers while also pursuing a botanical drug registration pathway with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The grants have assisted in advancing the science and developing commercial products for BerryCare, the company noted.
