The dental hygiene program at Prairie State College (PSC) in Chicago Heights, IL, has been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements" by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
The PSC program must be reaccredited every seven years; the next site visit for the program is 2019, according to the college.
The dental hygiene program at PSC is an 82-credit-hour Associate of Applied Science degree that prepares graduates to assist patients in preventing oral diseases and maintaining oral health, PSC said. Upon successful completion of the written dental hygiene national examination and a regional clinical examination, graduates are eligible for Illinois licenses.
