Children's charity program packs in crowds

Children's Dental Health Month (CDHM) is bringing the ADA's message of good oral habits to millions of kids this month, and free dental care to thousands of children around the country, the organization said.

More than 45,000 dental professionals provided free care to over 450,000 children on the most important day of the program, February 6 -- which the ADA has christened Give Kids A Smile (GKAS), according to an ADA press release.

Henry Schein Dental, Dexis, and Colgate-Palmolive are the three national sponsors of GKAS.

The double-sided 2009 campaign CDHM poster features the adventures of the Tough Tooth Team. On one side, the Team springs into action with the slogan "Turn Up Your Smile Power!" The other side features a healthy smile message for teens with the slogan, "Power Up Your Smile!"

The CDHM Program Planning Guide offers dental societies, teachers, and parents resources to promote the benefits of good oral health to children. The guide includes easy-to-do activities, program planning timetable tips, sample press releases, and more.
