Orthodontist warns against TikTok trend

A popular orthodontist on TikTok is cautioning patients not to use a spoon to remove their braces.

In a recent video, Dr. Grant Collins (@thebracesguy) cautioned that removing braces using this method would leave glue remaining on the teeth, which would need to be removed by a dental drill. What's more, teeth would begin to shift without the use of a retainer, forcing the patient to have to restart treatment again with braces, according to Collins.
