Endodontics Insider: Can an intranasal NSAID offer relief for endodontic pain?

Which pain reliever do you prescribe for patients experiencing pain from their untreated endodontic symptoms? A new study compared the intranasal form of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ketorolac with a combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen to see which is more effective.

No shaping file system completely removes root canal filling material during retreatment, but ultrasonic irrigation and other treatments may help remove additional material. To determine the best devices for this task, researchers compared retreatment with two shaping file systems and two irrigation devices to discover which removed more material.
