The dental assistant who was allegedly shot multiple times, including in her face, at her place of employment by her partner on December 1 has been identified, according to a story published on December 3 in Classic City News.
The victim has been identified as Sheila Mobley, 47. Carl Clark, 74, who lived with Mobley at a home in Athens, GA, and shared children together, reportedly shot her four times in what appears to be a domestic dispute, according to the story.
On December 1 at 6:36 a.m., an employee at McRae Family Dental in Athens, GA, called 911 after hearing gunshots and the screams of Mobley. When police arrived, officers found Mobley sitting on the floor with a gunshot wound to her face. The practice was not open for business at the time of the shooting.
Since Mobley reportedly could barely speak, she used a notepad and pen to provide officers with information, including Clark’s address and vehicle description, according to the story.
Police searched for Clark, and his vehicle was eventually spotted. During a police traffic stop, Clark allegedly shot himself. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
Mobley and Clark, who faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and attempted murder, are in separate hospitals recovering from their gunshot wounds.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
