Philadelphia dental students team up for oral cancer event

In honor of Oral Cancer Awareness Month, dental students from the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University are partnering to present the Philadelphia Oral Cancer Walk & 5K Run on April 6.

The event is an annual fundraiser for the Oral Cancer Foundation and a campaign to build awareness about the importance of early detection and screening, the schools noted in a press release.

All proceeds will go to the Oral Cancer Foundation. The event will also offer free screensings for oral cancer from 8 a.m. until noon.
