One thing the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted is the importance of infection control and prevention. What better time to talk about the topic than Dental Infection Control Awareness Month, which takes place in September.

Jessica Higginbotham, a board member of the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), joined DrBicuspid.com to talk about all things infection control. Higginbotham, who is also director of infection prevention at HuFriedyGroup, shared her tips for ensuring that every visit is the safest dental visit, including designating an infection control coordinator and downloading a checklist from the OSAP website.

"What's so important with infection control and prevention is that it's a team sport," Higginbotham said in the interview. "It's never one person's responsibility."
