Avesis and Harmony Health have piloted a program to improve oral healthcare for underserved Medicaid populations with special needs.
The pilot program, which begins in May across California, Florida, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, aims to transform preventive dentistry. Using real-time saliva testing, the program allows healthcare providers to detect diseases early and personalize treatment for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The yearlong initiative will use screening technologies to analyze salivary biomarkers for diseases like diabetes, gum disease, and cavities.
