Tom's of Maine is donating $50,000 to sponsor 50 small businesses in their efforts to support their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic via its Instagram feed.
The effort consists of a daily post on the Tom's of Main hashtag #NatureNurtures that highlights local yoga teachers, wellness experts, or nature guides.
Some examples include the following:
- Vinyasa yoga with the Portland Yoga Project in Maine
- Guided mediation by New Stress Relief in California
- Goat yoga with Lively Balance Wellness in Idaho
- Mommy & Me Fitness class with Born Well in Pennsylvania
- Bird-watching with IndiGo Birding Nature Tours in Indiana
"With many small businesses across the country impacted by COVID-19, we wanted to spotlight the local wellness experts and nature guides that can help rejuvenate us during this uncertain time," Rob Robinson, brand leader at Tom's of Maine, said in a statement.
The company said it has donated $60,000 and nearly $500,000 worth of personal care products to Direct Relief, an organization providing protective gear and supplies to communities hardest hit by COVID-19.
