Dental service organization (DSO) Great Lakes Dental Partners has appointed Kevin Offel as lead independent director of its board of directors.
In the role, Offel will provide leadership to the independent directors and advise the board on a variety of matters. He has more than 20 years of healthcare services experience, including serving as the president and CEO of My Dentist.
Offel succeeds Michael Burcham, who is now the chief of strategy and talent development at Shore Capital Partners, the Chicago-based private equity firm that supports Great Lakes Dental Partners. Burcham will remain on the board.
Currently, the DSO provides dental practice management services to more than 35 partner locations throughout Illinois and Indiana and expects to acquire more by the end of 2022. This year, Great Lakes Dental Partners added Premier Dental Group, Associates for Dental Care, Signature Dental Group, and Rochester Dental Center to its network.
