Investment firm Jacobs Holding announced plans on August 19 to acquire North American Dental Group (NADG) of Pittsburgh and create the first transatlantic dental group.
Jacobs Holding is the majority owner of Colosseum Dental Group, one of the largest dental care providers in Europe. This acquisition expands the firm to the North American dental market.
Jacobs Holding reached an agreement with the NADG co-founders and private equity firms Riverside Company and Abry Partners. The founding and dentist partners will retain equity and remain engaged, according to Jacobs Holding. No transaction price was announced.
NADG operates under local brands and has more than 200 practices in 11 U.S. states. Combined, NADG and Colosseum Dental Group will have more than 450 practices and revenues of more than $900 million.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the third quarter this year, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
