Dear DrBicuspid Member,
Researchers have shown that two regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) could be a viable treatment for mature permanent teeth with necrotic pulps. Our top story of the week explained why.
In a new randomized trial, a revitalization blood clot technique and a platelet-rich, fibrin-based technique demonstrated success in treating mature teeth with necrotic pulps. The two types of REPs could be an alternative to root canal therapy for some patients.
Highlights from the CDS Midwinter Meeting
The 2022 Chicago Dental Society (CDS) Midwinter Meeting kicked off on Thursday, bringing together 15,000 dental professionals for the in-person event. Although attendance is only half that of pre-pandemic times, the atmosphere still felt electric. Associate Editor Melissa Busch and I discussed why in our first in-person reunion video since 2019.
We have jampacked coverage from this year's show, which wraps up today. You don't want to miss our clinical stories, including creating a work culture free from sexual harassment, why 3D printing can save you money, and what to do when a patient struggles to get numb with local anesthetic.
We also have plenty of video content from the show. You can see the Cuspies award winners accept their trophies and hear advice from a banking expert about how dentists can save up for a practice while paying down student loans.
Even more coverage next week
Keep your eyes peeled for even more coverage from the CDS Midwinter Meeting on DrBicuspid.com next week. We'll have more clinical content, a few fun videos, and an interview on why lasers are a hot topic in dentistry.
Next week we also have an exciting webinar from Dandy. In this sponsor-supplied webinar, Dr. Jay Freedman will share why digital dental lab work isn't just for millennials. Register now to join us live on March 3 at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
