VirtualGrid has launched VRMesh v7.6, the latest version of its 3D point cloud and mesh processing software designed to aid in creating dental implant drill guides.
This release adds new capabilities to streamline the process of creating the drill guide, according to the company.
The typical workflow for dental drill guide design is a four-step process:
- Separate cylinders and tubes from a dental cast.
- Extract a desired region for producing a drilling template.
- Fit cylinders and tubes to the template.
- Execute Boolean operations to generate a drill guide for 3D printing.
The VRMesh v7.6 combines all steps into a batch process module to provide a simple way for creating a drill guide, which reduces the number of clicks for users. Users simply define a region of interest, and the program will automatically generate a water-tight drill guide for 3D printing, according to the company.
