The iTero imaging system from Align Technology is now available as a single hardware platform with software options for restorative or orthodontic procedures.
The new iTero has been engineered with new optics and algorithms that increase the speed of capture to reduce the overall scanning time, noted Timothy Mack, Align Technology vice president and general manager of iTero, in a press release. The new scanning wand and fiber-optic cord are lighter and ergonomically designed to improve the user and patient experience, he added.
The company has also introduced the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, Align's first chairside application powered by iTero. Doctors can use the interactive application to help patients visualize the potential benefits of Invisalign treatment in the doctor's office.
Align will begin marketing and selling the new iTero in North America next month and soon thereafter in select international markets.
North American pricing for the new iTero imaging system starts at $29,995 and can be customized with multiple software applications and scanning/service subscription options.
