Mydent International has introduced two lightweight high-speed handpieces. The new Defend handpieces feature a four-hole quick-release connection with 360° swivel intended to reduce hand fatigue, and also a push-button cartridge intended to make bur changing easier, the company said.

The handpieces operate at 260,000 rpm at 32 psi. Their ceramic bearings provide smooth, quiet, vibration-free action, Mydent said. They come with a six-month warranty.
