Philips has launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-guided power toothbrush, the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige.
Philips designed the new brush to sense and adapt to users' toothbrushing habits and provide a personalized cleaning experience. It contains sensors that detect pressure, cleaning motion, and coverage. The brush can then automatically adjust when users brush too hard to help prevent gingival damage.
The Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige also pairs with the Philips Sonicare app to provide users with progress reports and brushing recommendations. In studies, the brush removed plaque and stains and increased the health of gingiva, Philips said.
