COVID-19 has done so much to change our industry, but Tom Viola, RPh, also believes that it has changed how we view pain control.

In the podcast below, Viola discusses a recent study on the use of opioids versus acetaminophen. The recent study out of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry dives into pain control in patients who recently had extractions and the subject of pain management. What did the patient who took opioids think about his or her level of pain after the extraction, compared with one who was given another form of pain relief? That's one of the questions we answer in our one-on-one talk.

Additionally, Viola shares his thoughts about pain control in the post-COVID-19 world and how all types of pain medication still have a place in today's dental procedures, including opioids.
